Graduating from high school, finally, I've done a thing that I watched too much on movies and series, like Glee and HSM (High School Musical, if you are just born). Also, yes, I wore that robe, that black robe and that iconic hat. Also, yes, I performed for my own graduation like a queen says goodbye, exactly like how graduation would likely to happen in series or movies.
I never really become that kid who just wanted to graduate because school is boring, I thought I would be like that. Considering I went to Islamic school, which you doubled the schedule plus Islamic schedules like Quran Hadith, Fiqih, Islamic History, Aqidah, AND ARABIC, NA'AM, AL LUGHOTH AL ARRABIYA. In fact, I was the opposite, not really that smartass, golden kid or whatsoever, I just, enjoyed the whole situation, from chem to math and world's history. My friends are....cool? I suppose, and there are multi-ethnic, multi-languange and multi-background. I thought in this Islamic school, I wouldn't befriended with "diversity", I was wrong. I am lucky to befriended with people from Lampung, Bengkulu, Banjar, Wonosobo, even one of them attended middle school in Papua, it really opens my eyes tho. And they were not only from pesantren, or continued from MtSN to MAN, literally, they were from EVERYWHERE. I am also lucky that I joined Tonti and Science Olympiad (Geography (then went to Regional)), I got new families, especially my family in Tonti, they are REAL family. Also my competition journey from English debating, English speech, English story writing, science olympiad and till the very last, Kemenag International Islamic Education Exhibition for the orchestra team. I cannot tell how much I cherish every chances that came to me and I am glad I took it all, even I knew my sacrifaction would be many too.
I would gladly say that my high school experience was as good as series and movies that I watched. It went 70% like how I planned it to be. I just wish that my high school friends are also stay forever. Here are my reasons to survive high school:
